Amanda Bossard graduated from high school in 1992. She then began studying marine sciences at the Alaska Pacific University in Anchorage. Bossard launched her professional career in the field of seafood commercial worker in 1999. She started working on the F/V Sunset a 65' halibut-schooner that was turned into a tender for salmon in the name of Murat Aritan, who was employed as a commercial fisherman since 1993. Bossard is now married to Aritan and the couple has united to make their claim to the market. Both are advocates of conservation as well as profiting from sustainable resources within the fishing industry. In 2007, now a mother of two children Bella age 3 and Andre 1 Bossard then returning to living in Philadelphia established a direct wholesale distribution of seafood named Otolith. Her husband has a long history in the fish industry and often they are apart for five months or longer. This is when they're focused on their environment and financial goals. Bossard's daughters Isabella 12 years old and son Andre, age 10, return annually each year to Southeast Alaska to work in the deckhand position throughout the salmon wild season.
